The sensorimotor dynamics laboratory aims to improve human health and performance through the study of of brain-body-environment systems. We utilize tools, techniques, and theoretical principles from a range of disciplines, including biomechanics, neuroscience, nonlinear dynamics, and embodied cognitive science to study sensorimotor behavior across the lifespan. We aim to bridge applied and basic scientific approaches by pairing advanced lab-based experimental work with thoughtful consideration of practical healthcare applications. For example, we are developing clinically accessible virtual reality applications capable of quantifying sensorimotor behavior via mobile body tracking and targeted audiovisual perturbation.
